The MMLSSA executive celebrates a well-earned victory in the MLS Symposium, marking a milestone for Maseno University in excellence and leadership.

On 22nd March 2025, the Maseno Medical Laboratory Science Students' Association (MMLSSA) hosted the Western Region MLS Symposium at Maseno University. The event brought together MLS students from Maseno, Alupe, and MMUST, alongside visitors and alumni, with over 200 attendees. Discussions covered key MLS units, including Clinical Chemistry, Hematology & Blood Transfusion, Microbiology, and Histology & Cytology. Maseno University emerged as the symposium champion with 71 points, excelling in Hematology, while Alupe led in Histology, and MMUST secured third place, topping Clinical Chemistry. The event also featured insightful presentations from Save the Sicklers and Pacem-Afro, with certificates of appreciation awarded to all participants by the Maseno MLS Department.

The symposium provided an invaluable platform for academic excellence and professional networking among MLS students. Moderators, including Lecturers and seasoned Laboratory Professionals, shared insights under the theme ‘Transforming Healthcare Through Laboratory Excellence.’ Their discussions emphasized the vital role of laboratory professionals in improving healthcare outcomes.
