Anthropology of Environment and Medicine in East Africa, (AnthEM).
The project is called Anthropology of Environment and Medicine in East Africa (AnthEM). It is funded by NORHED through Norwegian program for capacity development in High Education and Research for Development (NORHED II). It is therefore a collaborative project between University of Oslo Department of social Anthropology(UiO), University of Dar es Salam Department of sociology and social Anthropology(UDSM), University of Nairobi Institute of Anthropology Gender and African Studies (UoN), Makerere University Department of Sociology and social Anthropology(Makerere), Maseno University Department of sociology and Anthropology (Maseno), National Institute of Medical Research/Amani Medical Research Centre (NIMR), Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI). The project is aimed at strengthening research and Training in East African universities particularly the PhD training which will be done at the University of Nairobi and also scholarships for masters’ students. The Students will be Four PhD students each contracted from each University.
