VISIT BY THE PRINCIPAL SECRETARY, STATE DEPARTMENT FOR TRADE, MINISTRY OF INVESTMENT, TRADE AND INDUSTRY.

Maseno University  has clinched number One in the Class of Universities and Number Two for the Class of Research and Innovations at the ASK  Kisumu National Show 2026. The University had the honour of hosting the Principal Secretary of  State Department for Trade in the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, Regina Akoth Ombam, during her visit to University Stand  at the 2026 ASK Kisumu National Show.
The Principal Secretary was warmly received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Partnerships, Research and Innovations), Prof. Regina Nyunja, Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance and Development), Prof. David Ongarora; Director of Linkages, Outreach and Consultancies, Prof. Rose Ongati and Director of Public Relations and Marketing, Dr. Owen McOnyango.


During her tour, the PS Ombam visited exhibitions mounted by the Academic Division, School of Medicine, School of Agriculture, Food Security and Environmental Sciences, School of Physical and Biological Sciences, School of Computing and Informatics, School of Business and Economics the School of Education and School of Arts and Social Sciences among  othets. She interacted with staff and students, who showcased Innovative Research, Technologies, and practical solutions aimed at advancing Agriculture, Trade, Healthcare, Education, Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development.
The visit provided an opportunity to demonstrate Maseno University's commitment to Research, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Community Engagement in support of Kenya's socio-economic transformation.
As the University continues to participate in the 2026 ASK Kisumu National Show, it remains steadfast in fostering Partnerships between Academia, Industry and Government to drive Innovation, strengthen trade and Investment, and contribute meaningfully to the Nation's Sustainable Development agenda.

Ag. VICE-CHANCELLOR, MASENO UNIVERSITY, PROF.ERICK NYAMBEDHA VISITS THE UNIVERSITY STAND.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Maseno University, Prof. Erick Nyambedha pays a visit to the University's exhibition Stand. He was received and accompanied by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Partnerships, Research and Innovation), Prof.Regina Nyunja, the Director of Linkages Outreach and Consultancies Prof.Rose Ongati, the Director of Public Relations, Marketing, Dr. Owen McOnyango and the Farm Manager, Mr. Joseph Oduol.

During the tour,  Prof. Nyambedha engaged with different exhibitors in the University Stand and had  a glimpse of the Innovations and Research showcased within the Stand. 


MASENO UNIVERSITY FARM EXCELS AT ASK KISUMU NATIONAL SHOW 2026 ON IN THE  ANIMAL CLASSES.

Maseno University has recorded an impressive performance at the 2026 ASK Kisumu National Show, with its Friesian cow emerging as Champion, alongside the Ayrshire breed which also took Reserve Champion. In addition, two pigs were crowned Champions, while four others secured first-place positions in their respective categories.
Joseph Oduol, the Farm Manager, said the University’s success was attributed to meticulous feeding regimes, careful animal selection and rigorous grooming routines.
