Marketing Society of Kenya Mentorship Program
The Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) CEO, Mr. Edward Oswe, visited Maseno University on 28th February 2023, to engage with marketing students. The event organized by the School of Business and Economics in partnership with MSK, was attended by students pursuing marketing and business-related courses, as well as School of business staff.
Mr. Edward Oswe, who is a renowned marketing expert, shared his insights and experiences on the marketing industry in Kenya and globally. He emphasized the need for marketers to embrace digital technologies, find their niches and provide solutions to problems in marketing to remain competitive in the rapidly changing business landscape.
During his address, Mr. Edward Oswe also highlighted the importance of providing solutions to the modern marketing problems, mentorship programmes to equip the students with practical knowledge, stressing that marketing should be conducted in a responsible manner that is sensitive to the needs and aspirations of consumers.
The talk was followed by a question-and-answer session, where students and the staff had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Oswe and ask him questions on various aspects of marketing. The questions ranged from mentorship programmes to creating real life case study from Kenyan companies.
Dr. Owen noted that the event was an excellent opportunity for students to interact with marketing experts and gain practical insights into the marketing industry. He further noted that the discussions were insightful and provided students with valuable information that will help them in their careers.
Speaking after the event on behalf of the Dean of the School of Business and Economics, Dr. Donald Gulali, expressed his gratitude to MSK for partnering with the university to organize the event. He noted that such engagements provide students with practical insights into the marketing industry, which will help them develop the skills and knowledge required to excel in their careers.
