The Commission for University Education (CUE) recently conducted a comprehensive inspection of the facilities at Maseno University's Yala campus, marking a significant step in the ongoing evaluation of higher education standards. The visit highlighted the impressive growth and development witnessed at the Yala-based institution, which currently boasts a vibrant community of over 1400 students and a commitment to providing a state-of-the-art learning environment.
Maseno University Odera Akan'go Campus houses the School of Development and Strategic Studies. The School offers the following Courses-:
•    Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with Information Technology
•    Bachelor of Arts Degree in Development Studies with Information Technology 
•    Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations with Information Technology
 

The inspection, which culminated in a thorough examination of key facilities including the library, lecture halls, and administrative offices, followed closely on the heels of the recent inauguration of new lecture halls by Maseno University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Julius Nyabundi. This recent expansion underscores the campus's trajectory of steady progress and its dedication to enhancing its academic infrastructure.
The CUE delegation was formally hosted at the Yala campus, where they were provided with a detailed overview of the institution's history and milestones. Dr. Tom Mboya, the Associate Dean, offered a compelling narrative of the campus's evolution, tracing its journey from its initial establishment to its current status as a thriving academic center.

Dr. Tom Mboya, recounted the early challenges and the unwavering commitment of the founding faculty and staff in laying the groundwork for the campus's growth. A particular emphasis was placed on the recent infrastructural advancements, most notably the newly launched lecture halls.
