WINNERS OF MR AND MISS MASENO UNIVERSITY BEAUTY CONTEST CROWNED

James Kamau and Shelmith Naisula are the winners of this year’s Mr. and Miss Maseno University beauty pageant contest that was held at the Graduation Square, Siriba Campus on Saturday 26th March 2016.

The Miss Maseno winner, Shelmith Naisula is a third year student studying Bachelor of Arts, International Relations with IT at the  Kisumu Campus, while Mr. Maseno winner James Kamau is a second year student studying Bachelor of Business Administration with IT at the Main Campus. Miss Naisula is poised to represent Maseno University at various beauty pageants such as Miss World Kenya and Miss University.

The duo is expected to come up with projects to support needy students at the University and the community around Maseno University.  They are also expected to join the ‘Feed Comrade Initiative’, a project initiated by former winners of Miss and Mr. Maseno University that help provide food to needy students at the University.

The event which was held amid pomp and glamour also included competition for Mr. Flexor (most muscular student) that was won by Mr. Stephen Kodande, a fourth year student studying Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with IT and Miss Plus size (the biggest student in size) which was won by Miss Truphena Kwamboka, a second year student studying Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design with IT.

The beauty contest which is the biggest annual event for Maseno University students was sponsored by Equator Bottlers and Maseno University. Other sponsors were Kenya Commercial Bank, Equity Bank, Urban Radio and Q fm.
