Homa Bay Campus Vision for Education.

Coordinator, Homa Bay Campus, Mr. Kobiero addressing Councillors in a lecture.

Homa Bay Campus has cut a niche for itself not just in Homa Bay County but in the larger South Nyanza by managing to reverse education degradation standards through entrenching Maseno University programmes. The man behind this spirited move is Mr. Johnson Kobiero. As a team leader at Homa Bay Campus he has managed to rally arguably most of the senior managers and public offices-together with their co-workers-to enlist for 'excellence' courses from the equitorial University, Maseno University.

This point in case was amplified during a routine marketing follow up and facilitation around the county by Mr. Kobiero on 9th August 2012. On this day like many others before he follows up on students from Maseno to find out how they are progressing. Among them are the Mayor of Homa Bay Municipality Mr. Charles Katinga and his Councillors, who are going through a course in.

The District Commissioner Mr. Anderson Ayuku, The District Educational Officer, the Regional Manager PLAN International Mr. Vitalis Were are just part of the intellectual revolution strategically taking over Nyanza through Maseno University being their institutional partner. The reawakening of managers and their teams is due to the perception that education is part and parcel of not only career development but the envisionment under Vision 2030 which seems achievable through such efforts.

A serious reflective joke doing rounds in Homa Bay is that bars and lodgings are running at a concievable loss since Maseno University Homa Bay Campus set up shop. This is because instead of 'Homa Bayans' engaging in nightly activities, they are busy taking lectures or revising Maseno University programmes.

Dedicated Customer Service - Homa Bay Campus Reception

Further on that tour a star student, Mrs. Mary Otieno just got admission after the Coordinator, Homa Bay Campus encouraged her to enroll after managing to complete her KCSE exams with a D+. Her undying resolve is to clinch that elusive Maseno degree and be at par with her child but more so achieve her dreams.

Mr. Kobiero inspiring future Maseno University students at Gogo Mixed Secondary School
Albeit frequent personal assistance to process applications and interest by Mr. Kobiero, he still found time to check on KMTC students doing their Nursing Council exams at Sonyaco Plaza Hall housing Homa Bay Campus. Also to market Maseno at Gogo Secondary School's Prize Giving Day/Education Day as one of the main speakers who also gave a win-win strategy for the school to top the country's KCSE finale. As a former Maranda Alumni he gave workable insights that were tough but fatherly that attracted a lot of praise not only from students and parents but also education stakeholders present. Interestingly, the Headmaster of the school is also a student of Maseno University and a driver of the University's philosophy on excellence. Compact Discs and printed material with information on Maseno University programmes were dished out effectively reinforcing the academic marketing call.

The team leader accredits the development of Homa Bay County academic standards to the Vice-Chancellor who he says has been and continues to be supportive in this regard. Conclusively, team work and effort is on the fore front when it comes to advancing the academic standards in Homa Bay.

Maseno University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for eLearning modules leading to the certificate, diploma and degree programmes listed below. Several Level 1 eLearning modules (equivalent to Year 1) leading to these programmes
will be on offer as from May 2012.
